In 2004, Kartallar Paint employees planted 2,000 stone pines (Pinus pinea) on a total area of 19,685 m² in the Pelitli Village region of Gebze. This area was allocated by the Ministry of Forestry, and the effort led to the creation of the Kartallar Paint Forest. The stone pine, known for its low water requirement and high oxygen production capacity, is one of the most effective measures against global warming. With an average lifespan of 150 years, one hectare of stone pine can produce approximately 30 tons of oxygen per year. Considering that the Kartallar Paint Forest spans nearly 2 hectares, its oxygen production capacity is estimated at 60 tons annually, and approximately 9,000 tons over its average lifetime.
